Founded in 1984, Modrec International began life trading as a manufacturer of luxury, indoor games selling to the likes of Harrods and leading Dutch department store De Bijenkorf. From this, Modrec evolved and extended their product line to include a range of stationery and luxury business bags which were sold in retailers such as the likes of House of Fraser, Debenhams, Liberty London and Dickens and Jones.
Following inspiration from a trip to Asia, the company found another direction after identifying a niche gap in the market to satisfy the more general needs of the traveling business person in the UK. From this, the “Business Range” was created under the Gino Ferrari label with the traveling, corporate consumer in mind.
With time it was a natural progression for the company to expand its product range to include universal luggage and travel goods. After meeting with a Dutch entrepreneur inventor and partnering with manufacturers in Asia, Modrec International was the first to bring wheeled luggage to the UK market in co-operation with ‘MoveEasy’ luggage. The company was one of the first to start importing luggage from Asia, bringing affordable travel options to the UK mass market without compromising on quality or style. The initial luggage lines were launched into House of Fraser as well as high-end independent stores. Over the years the company has continued to adapt to trends and further evolved, adding leather bags and small leather goods to their product portfolio for men and women.
Today Modrec International is an established, specialist manufacturer and supplier of luggage, bags, wallets and purses. With over three decades of experience, the company has acquired vast industry and sourcing expertise and valuable market knowledge. Combining such expertise, infrastructure and focus, with a talented design team, Modrec International is a cutting edge, luggage specialist and offers a higher level of service than general sourcing companies.
The company possesses a diverse brand portfolio of own labels including Gino Ferrari and A2B, as well as the licensed brands Pierre Cardin and London Fog. With innovation at its core, the company is committed to providing high quality product design and attention to detail across its brand portfolio. The brands we own and sell are sold in a wide variety of stores, including department stores, mass retail, specialist luggage stores and online retailers.
